Not far away from mine at 4.0ghz.  Good stuff.

Got me on the OpenGL test.  I will have to try again once the seals parachute drop my GTX280 in.

so I looked at your bench results.
the timing below for the 32-bit one is for multi core's result..
and the other timing for 64-bit one is for single core result.

I came to this conclusion because there is no way it takes 49 seconds to get it done in 32 bits and 58 seconds in 64 bit Wink

so my point is,   I want to know if it really makes a worthy difference using 32 bit or 64 bit os? I am thinking to go back to 32 bit. because o these imcompatibility issues.. what do you say Gunbob? because after I used this os, I actually realized the only thing that I use 64 bit is 3dsmax and a 3rd party render motor. and nothing more.. so 2-3 seconds (is it?) of improvement is not worth it for the hundreds of other plug-ins and stuff I cant use now because of 64 bit ?

I'm a little confused with what you are looking at.

My results are 64bit first and 32bit second.  Both runs tests for single core and multi-cores.  Rendering(1 CPU) = single core testing and Rendering (x CPU) = multi-core testing.  My 64bit test took 49 seconds and my 32bit test took 58 seconds.  This is consistent with the test results.

Are you sure you didn't flip the results when viewing them?

Irregardless, if compatibility is causing plug-in failure I would setup a dual boot.  Store your work on a bridged drive so that you can flip back and forth.  This is what I would do if I required use of my 32bit plug-ins.  Or better yet just get two computers :P.  My third is about to be built.

Dual booting solves 95% of software compatibility issues.  But I would stay away from XP and Vista on the same drive with dual partitions.  A second drive is a much better choice.  However with matching operating system brands you can go nuts with 2 or 100 partitions.

hmmm
so you mean there is an actual 9 seconds difference between 32 bit and 64 bit renderings at the same clocks. that's a lot and means I cant give this up. sigh!
second computer is what I want but not what I need Smiley I don't have space in my room for that lol (yeah I have a small room)

well. whatever then... I thought your first shot was showing single core render score for 64 bit and your second shot was showing multi-core render score for 32 bit... didnt even gave a chance that there might be 9 seconds of difference. that is huge...

I am already very jealous of splave's scores with his i7 anyway. I will stil wait till 32nm i7s come out...
thanks for the help...
